Meet Extra Treatment: The Conditioner We Built From Thai Coconuts to Your Shower Shelf

There’s a particular kind of stubbornness that goes into building a personal care brand for almost thirty years. You learn which raw materials actually do what they promise, which ones just sound good on a label, and which combinations your customers keep coming back for. Extra Treatment is what happens when you take all of that experience and put it into one bottle.
This isn’t a conditioner we rushed to market. It’s the one we’ve been quietly working toward — built around four ingredients we trust, in proportions we tested until the texture, the scent, and the way it left hair feeling all matched what we set out to make.
Why We Started With Coconut Oil — and Why It Had to Be Thai
Coconut oil is one of the oldest hair treatments in the world, and for good reason. Its fatty acid structure lets it penetrate the hair shaft rather than just sitting on the surface, which means it can help reduce protein loss from washing and styling — not just add shine on top.
But not all coconut oil is the same, and where it comes from matters more than most labels let on. We source ours from Thai coconut groves, the same growing regions this country has relied on for generations. It’s a decision rooted in something practical, too: supporting local agriculture keeps quality traceable and keeps us close to the source, batch by batch.
Sweet Almond Oil: The Softness Coconut Oil Doesn’t Give You Alone
Coconut oil is a strengthener. Sweet almond oil is a softener. We paired them because hair — especially hair that’s colored, heat-styled, or just tired from Bangkok humidity — needs both.
Sweet almond oil is rich in vitamin E and oleic acid, both of which help hair feel smoother and more manageable without weighing it down. It’s also gentle enough that it’s long been used on sensitive skin, which made it an easy choice for a formula meant to be used every wash.
Olive Oil: An Old Idea That Still Works
Long before “hair oil treatments” became a skincare-aisle trend, people were using olive oil for exactly this purpose — softening dry ends, adding a natural sheen, and helping seal in moisture after a wash. We kept it in the formula for the same reason people have relied on it for centuries: it works, and it works quietly, without an overpowering scent or heavy residue.
Plant Keratin: Rebuilding, Not Just Coating
Keratin is the protein your hair is actually made of, so it made sense to look for a plant-derived version rather than an animal-based one. Plant keratin works by helping to temporarily fill in the microscopic gaps along damaged hair strands — the ones caused by heat, chemical treatments, or just daily wear — leaving hair feeling stronger and looking smoother from root to tip.
Combined with the three oils, it’s less of a single “active ingredient” story and more of a formula where each component is doing a different job: keratin to rebuild, coconut oil to strengthen, almond oil to soften, olive oil to seal.
Who Extra Treatment Is For
If your hair has been through a lot — color, heat tools, humidity, or just time — this is the conditioner built for that kind of repair work. It’s meant to be used as part of your regular routine, not as an occasional treatment mask, so the benefits build wash after wash rather than needing a special occasion.
Where to Find It
Extra Treatment is available now through our usual channels — in supermarkets and through our online stores. As always, everything we make comes from the same small team that’s been formulating and manufacturing personal care products in Thailand since 1998. When you pick up a bottle, you’re getting a formula we stand behind, not one we outsourced to a lab we’ve never seen.
We’d love to hear how it works for you.
